How to reach us
Write to info@robomiri.com. It reaches the small team that builds the app, in Rotterdam, and we answer in English, usually within two working days. There is no phone line and no chat widget.
If you are reporting a problem with a specific question, send us its ID — the pool identifier printed with it, in the form T1A01 or E5B09 — and say what looks wrong: the key, the distractors, the explanation or the figure. That one string is enough for us to find it exactly. For anything else, your phone model, its OS version and the app version will do.

Common questions
Which question pools are in the app?
All three current NCVEC pools — Technician, General and Amateur Extra — complete, at 1,431 questions, with the errata applied. They are compiled into the app rather than downloaded, which is why every element is available the moment it is installed.
What happens when a pool is replaced?
The NCVEC releases each pool on a four-year cycle. When one is replaced, the new pool arrives in an ordinary app update; nothing is fetched at runtime. Update the app before you sit an exam for an element whose pool has just turned over.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes, entirely — which is rather the point for a hobby whose exam sessions are often held somewhere with no coverage. The Android build is compiled without the INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions in the merged manifest, so it is not technically able to open a connection at all.
Are the mock exams like the real ones?
They are assembled to the same per-element rules: the same number of questions as a real session, drawn from the same subelements in the same proportions, scored against the same pass mark. What the app cannot reproduce is the room and the examiners. Passing here is a good sign and nothing more — the licence comes from a session run by a VEC.
How do I reset my progress?
Reset progress, in Settings, deletes every answer, flag and mock attempt the app has recorded. It cannot be undone, and it is complete: nothing is kept anywhere else, because nothing was sent anywhere else.
Does my progress follow me to another device?
No. There is no account and no sync, so the study history belongs to the phone it was made on. If you have your phone's own system backup switched on — Apple's or Google's — restoring it onto a new device may bring the app's data with it, but that is the platform's mechanism rather than ours and we cannot promise it.
I think an answer key or an explanation is wrong.
Send us the question ID and what you believe the correct reading is. The keys come from the NCVEC's published pools and we do not change them — where the app is wrong, it is the explanation or the errata state, and that we fix. Either way you will get a straight answer about which it was.
Does the app book my exam session?
No. It is a study tool only. Sessions are booked with a Volunteer Examiner Coordinator, and the FCC issues the licence.
Is there a subscription?
No. Ham Exam Trainer is a single one-time purchase covering all three elements, with no subscription, no in-app purchases, no advertising and no analytics.
03
What the app does not do
It does not teach the theory from first principles, it does not issue anything, and it has no connection to the NCVEC, the ARRL or the FCC. The question pools are those bodies' public-domain releases; the explanations, the scheduler and the app around them are ours.
It also has no accounts, no leaderboards, no cloud and no sync between devices. Those are absent on purpose: each of them would mean sending your study history somewhere it does not need to go.
04
Bugs and feature requests
Both go to the same address. Pool and explanation corrections are the ones we act on fastest — they ship in the next release, and we will tell you when it goes out. Feature requests are read by the person who decides what gets built, and we will say honestly whether something is planned, unlikely or already in progress rather than leaving it in a queue you cannot see.
If a request would require the app to collect or transmit anything, we will say no and explain why. That constraint is the product.
05
Purchases, refunds and restoring
The app store handles the money, not us. We never see your card details, your billing address or your name, and we cannot issue a refund ourselves.
On iOS, purchases and refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. To restore a purchase on a new device, sign in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. On Android, Google Play handles it: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637, and a purchase restores on any device signed in to the same Google account.
If a purchase is not restoring and the store has told you it should have, write to us with the order number and we will help you chase it.
06
Your data, briefly
Ham Exam Trainer collects nothing, sends nothing and contains no third-party SDKs. The full statement, including what is stored on the device and what happens to it when you uninstall, is at robomiri.com/ham-exam-trainer/privacy.
If you email us, we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the answer. Nothing else.
