How to reach us
Write to info@robomiri.com. It reaches the small team that builds the app, in Rotterdam, and we answer in English, usually within two working days. There is no phone line and no chat widget: a written report with the numbers in it is worth more to us than either.
So that the first reply is a useful one, tell us which calculator you were in — voltage drop, conduit fill or ampacity derating — the values you typed in, the answer you expected and the answer you got, along with your phone model, its OS version and the version of the app. A screenshot usually says all of it at once.
02
Common questions
Which electrical code does it calculate to?
None, deliberately. The Meter carries no code tables at all: base ampacity, ambient and fill correction factors and allowable fill percentages are values you type in from the code book adopted where you work. That is what lets the same app be used in any jurisdiction, and it is why the app never claims an authority it does not have. The arithmetic is ours; the table values, and the judgement, stay yours.
The answer looks wrong to me.
Send it to us with every number you entered, including the table values, and say what you expected instead. Two things are worth checking first: that the correction factors came from the right table for the installation method, and that the units in each field are the ones you meant. If the arithmetic is wrong we want to know today — that is the one bug in a calculator that matters.
Does it need a network connection?
No, and it cannot use one. The Android build is compiled without the INTERNET permission in the merged manifest, so it is not technically able to open a connection. Everything is computed on the device.
Where are my saved jobs kept?
In the app's own private storage on the phone, in a local database no other app can read. They are never sent to us. Deleting a saved record in the app deletes it, and uninstalling the app removes all of them at once.
Can I move my saved jobs to a new phone?
Not through the app. There is no account and no sync, which is the same decision that keeps your job data off anyone's server. If you have your phone's own system backup switched on — Apple's or Google's — restoring that backup onto the new device may bring the app's data with it, but that is the platform's mechanism rather than ours and we cannot promise it.
Is there a subscription?
No. The Meter is a single one-time purchase, with no subscription, no in-app purchases, no advertising and no analytics.
03
What the app does not do
It is a calculator, not a code book and not an inspector. It does not tell you which table applies, it does not know what has been adopted in your county, and passing a check in the app is not evidence of compliance with anything. The responsibility for the values entered and the design that follows from them is the licensed person's, as it has to be.
It also has no accounts, no cloud, no sync between devices and no shared jobs. Those are not on a roadmap we are hiding — they are absent on purpose, because each of them would mean sending your work somewhere else.
04
Bugs and feature requests
Both go to the same address. A bug report with the exact inputs attached usually turns into a fix in the next release; we will tell you when that release goes out. Feature requests are read by the person who decides what gets built, and we will say honestly whether something is planned, unlikely or already being worked on rather than leaving it in a queue you cannot see.
If a request would require the app to collect or transmit anything, we will say no and explain why. That constraint is the product.
05
Purchases, refunds and restoring
The app store handles the money, not us. We never see your card details, your billing address or your name, and we cannot issue a refund ourselves.
On iOS, purchases and refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. To restore a purchase on a new device, sign in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. On Android, Google Play handles it: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637, and a purchase restores on any device signed in to the same Google account.
If a purchase is not restoring and the store has told you it should have, write to us with the order number and we will help you chase it.
06
Your data, briefly
The Meter collects nothing, sends nothing and contains no third-party SDKs. The full statement, including what is stored on the device and what happens to it when you uninstall, is at robomiri.com/the-meter/privacy.
If you email us, we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the answer. Nothing else.
